Alison Cockcroft
Biography
Something familiar yet strange, amusing but unsettling emerges from Alison Cockcroft’s observations of nature. Her work speaks to us of our own physicality: the contradiction of power and vitality with transience and vulnerability. Alison makes drawings and sculpture using direct processes; mark making, mono-printing, cutting and constructing.
Alison studied sculpture Polytechnic in the 1980’s graduating with first class honours. Subsequently she gained a PGCE from Bretton Hall College in Wakefield. Alongside her own practise she devises and runs creative workshops for all ages.
